Fifth Class Reading Workshop
Welcome to our Reading Workshop in fifth class.
This webpage is designed to let you know what happens in our Oxford/ Treetop Reading Workshop.Our reading workshop takes place every Wednesday afternoon, during this period of time the pupils spend allocated time working independently, working in pairs and groups using their Oxford/ Treetop reader. Each pupil is assigned a reader according to their reading ability. As you explore you will find out how our reading workshop operates, there are various downloadable resource sheets and samples of work. Enjoy taking a look through it!

Objectives
The main objective of the Reading Workshop in our class is to emphasise the importance of pupil engagement and the interaction between reader and text.
Objectives:
- Provide differentiated instruction in reading and writing
- Provide integration of all components of literacy development (reading, writing, listening, speaking and thinking)
- Encourage and support pupils to develop their own reading interests
- Engage and enrich pupils reading experiences
- Support children's wider reading and reading for pleasure
- Provide opportunities to work independently, in pairs and in a group context
- Support and provide integration in other subjects areas
